HAZARD, Ky. (WYMT) - A family is left to pick up the pieces after an overnight fire destroyed their home.
The home is off Combs Road in Hazard. The homeowner says he received a call from his neighbor about the fire at about 10:30 last night. He lived there with his wife and two children, and says he is grateful no one was hurt.
"I'm thankful, thankful, real thankful that my family wasn't in there. That's the main thing. A home can be replaced but your family can't. That's my main thing and I guess we'll just try to start over," said Kevin Day, the homeowner.
The Hazard Fire Department, Jake's Branch Fire Department and Perry County Sheriff's Office responded to the fire. The cause of the blaze is still under investigation.
