PERRY Co., Ky. (WYMT) - His family called it a long, rough road. One Hazard city employee is forced to relearn how to live his life.

More than one month ago 52-year-old Johnny Neace was hit by a car while working.

On July 5th police arrested 29-year-old Misty Bradley after Neace was hit picking up trash beside Gorman Hollow Road.

Neace is currently undergoing rehabilitation at Cardinal Hill.

Janis Neace is his wife. She said he is taking recovery day-by-day and while this is a difficult time they are thankful he is still alive.

Family members said Neace could be released on Friday, but will require 24-hour care and supervision for a period of time.

"It's hard on me. It's hard on his kids. It's hard on the ones closest to us. It's been rough. It's been a rough road for all of us and all I want him to do is get better and come home," said Janis Neace.

Officials at the Perry County Circuit Court said Bradley pleaded not guilty on Monday for driving on a DUI suspended license.

On August 19th Bradley will go to court for failure to produce her insurance card after the accident on July 5th.
