Hazard Independent schools facing budget crunch

The Hazard Independent school district is feeling a statewide budget crunch.

The Hazard Herald reports the school district will be cutting teachers next year and no employees will receive any raises.

Plans are also being finalized to renovate Roy G. Eversole and Walkertown schools.

Eversole will become an elementary school and Walkertown will be the new Hazard Middle School.
