HAZARD, Ky. (WYMT) - A Perry County attorney lathered up today to help a Hazard police officer battling cancer.
Earlier this month, Sam Collins pledged to shave his head if he could raise $1,000 to help Lieutenant Paul Campbell, who is diagnosed with stage four colon cancer.
Circuit Judge Bill Engle challenged Collins to take it a step further, by shaving off his goatee.
"I don't know that I've got anything else to shave, so we'll have to come up with some other way to raise him some money," Collins joked.
"The important part of what Sam is doing is not the money, although it is significant; it's the fact raising community awareness," Engle said.
Collins says he's raised more than $1,100 so far.
He encourages anyone who would like to donate to the cause to contact the Hazard Police Department.
