PERRY Co., Ky. (WYMT) - Many have heard the phrase "break a leg." One Perry County theatre company hopes to do just that in the name of comedy.
The Little Theatre of Hazard is performing “The Great All-American Musical Disaster” this Friday through Sunday.
Director Terry Thies said the theatre has been around for nearly 60 years.
"If you get bit by the acting bug there is a thrill of being on stage and the applause at the end is worth it all," Thies said.
An applause her cast and crew hope to hear on opening night at the First Federal Center of the Hazard Community and Technical College.
"There are 28 to 30 people in this and the numbers change daily," said Thies.
This group said this is a collaborative effort which brings folks together.
"It's just a great opportunity to get out and have a good time and enjoy a good show," said Actor Hobie Dotson. "It's part of everybody getting involved together because it's part of your community."
Thies said, "I hear all the time, well there's nothing to do in Hazard, but there's plenty to do if you look for it."
Opening night is Friday, February 28 at 7 p.m.
There is another show on Saturday, March 1 at 7 p.m.
The last show is on Sunday, March 2 at 2:30 p.m.
You can buy tickets at the door or by contacting Terry Thies at 606-436-2848.
The cost is $12 for adults and $10 for seniors and students.
