Today was a day for the whole family to come and show support for healthy babies everywhere.
The 30th annual March of Dimes "March for Babies" was at Hazard High School today. The walk was four miles. There was no entry fee, but donations were encouraged. All donations to March of Dimes goes to supporting healthy newborns.
"Unfortunately right now one in eight babies is born prematurely so it's really important that the funding comes in so that we continue that research," said Christie Potter, the Co-Chairperson for the Kentucky River Region of March of Dimes.
March of Dimes officials say their goal at this year's walk is to raise $77,000.
