HAZARD, Ky. (WYMT) - One well-known coal company has been sold.
Pine Branch Coal Sales was purchased by JMP Coal Holdings and is now a part of Blackhawk Mining.
The company is made up of 3 surface mines and produces more than 1 and half million tons of coal every year.
Blackhawk Mining President Nick Glancy says this purchase will more than double the company's current production.
