PERRY COUNTY, Ky. (WYMT) - A Perry County husband and wife are behind bars facing allegations of inappropriate sexual activity involving a minor.
37 year old Susan Jamison and 20 year old Thomas Colwell are both charged with first degree sodomy after the alleged sexual assault of a young girl.
The assault allegedly occurred in Jamison's home in Hazard between May and August of this year.
Police say sodomy cases involving a minors are rare in this area, but they do happen.
"It's not that big of a problem. Sometimes we do have situations where this has occurred, but it's not something we deal with on a regular basis." Jason Duff from the Hazard Police Department told Mountain News.
The Kentucky River Children's Advocacy Center assisted Hazard police in the investigation.
