Baker was at Americas Best Value Inn in Hazard investigating a stolen credit card when Kadik came into the lobby and saw Baker.
Kadik walked outside after seeing the officer.
Baker then went outside to talk to Kadik.
“Once he asked him for identification. Mr. Kadick got into his vehicle and backed toward him I think causing him to feel as if he was going to run over him,” KSP Jody Sims said.
Officer Baker then fired a shot at the rear tire of Kadik's vehicle.
Kadik drove his vehicle just a short distance where it stalled.
He then ran off on foot, but Baker caught up with him and there was a struggle.
Kadik was then arrested and charged with wanton endangerment and wanton endangerment of a police officer.
