HAZARD, Ky (WYMT) - Heavy rain Monday morning has led to reports of flooding in several counties across the WYMT viewing area.

Radar estimates show several inches of rain have fallen in Perry, Knott and Breathitt counties, with rain still falling across the far eastern half of the state.

So far, it appears Perry, Knott and Breathitt counties are the hardest hit by the flooding, but reports are still coming in.

Flood waters closed Highway 476 for a while between Hardburly and Darfork in Perry County. The water has since receded and the road is back open. We're also getting reports that high water has left Highway 550 at the intersection of Highway 160 impassable in Hindman.

There are reports of flood waters near both the Hazard Community and Technical College campus in Hindman and Alice Lloyd College in Pippa Passes. Officials with HCTC have cancelled all 9am and 11am classes at the Hindman branch and will make a decision about afternoon classes later.

We also have reports of high water either in or near the Buckhorn School and Davidson Baptist Church in Perry County.

Remember, if you have flood water in your area, seek higher ground immediately. Do not drive on flooded roads.

We have reporters on the way to several scenes. Keep it locked right here for the latest updates.
