HAZARD, Ky. (WYMT) - A man accused of gunning down three people in the parking lot of Hazard Community and Technical College made his first appearance in circuit court.

The Hazard Herald reports Dalton Stidham refused to enter a plea, so Judge Bill Engle entered a not guilty plea on his behalf.

He allegedly shot and killed Jackie, Caitlin and Taylor Cornett last month.

A trial date is set for September.

Commonwealth's Attorney John Hansen says he will decide soon if he will seek the death penalty.
