HAZARD, Ky. (WYMT) - The threat of snow and bitter cold had many folks in Hazard running to area stores to stock up on winter supplies.
Road salt, space heaters and pipe insulation were all hot items Sunday at Lowes.
Employees say more customers than usual visited the store ahead of severe cold that could drop below zero Monday night.
One man was on a mission to make sure his ice-prone pipes keep flowing.
"I'm pretty worried," said Justin Noble. "I live on a pretty steep hill, so you know it's hard to travel, and then my water freezes, so I hope they missed the forecast."
With the forecast calling for a wind chill as low as -30 degrees, many folks we talked to say they are bracing for the worst.
