Well known Perry County woman dies

HAZARD, Ky. (WYMT) - A well known Perry County woman will be remembered Wednesday.

Coralee Sparkman, the wife of broadcaster Ernest Sparkman, died Sunday.

She was part owner of WKIC and WSGS Eadio and started the Senior Citizen's Radio Day in 1972.

The annual event has raised hundreds of thousands of dollars for seniors.

Sparkman's visitation and funeral will be Wednesday night at the New Hope Christian Center in Hazard.

Coralee Sparkman was 81.
