IVEL, Ky. (WYMT) - Appalachian Wireless is announcing a scholarship program for 2013.
The company will be giving out eight scholarships worth $1,000 each.
Students are eligible if they or their family are Appalachian Wireless customers.
Officials say the scholarships can be used for tuition, books, housing or meals.
"We know that higher education can present some challenges, and there's times that you past the tuition, past the books, there are expenses that are incurred that families have to come up with," said Director of Marketing Danny VanHoose.
Applications can be downloaded at www.appalachianwireless.com. They will also be distributed to all high schools in the area later this week.
