Charges are reduced against a Pike County volunteer firefighter accused of impersonating a police officer.

Willie Pauley was charged with a felony last week after Elkhorn City Police say he used his emergency lights to pull over a car.

Thursday afternoon in court, Pauley and a woman in his car said the other car nearly ran them off the road and was driving reckless.

Pauley claimed he used his lights to stop the car and then called police.

The judge reduced the charge to attempted impersonation of a police officer, which is a misdemeanor.

If Pauley is not charged with anything in the next three months, it will be dismissed.
