PIKEVILLE, Ky. (WYMT) - A special ceremony took place in Downtown Pikeville to honor Pike County's fallen officers.
The ceremony included several speakers including the mother of fallen Kentucky State Police Trooper Jonathan Leonard and the daughter of murdered Pike County Sheriff Roy Conway.
The new Roy Conway Memorial Wall and the Fallen Officers Monument were both unveiled, currently honoring 26 fallen heroes.
Roy Conway's daughter, Judi Patton says, "This is big not only for my family but families of every fallen officer in Pike County...been a long time coming. It is such a relief to know that their names are out here in stone for eternity for everyone to see."
Officials say both the Pike County Fiscal Court and the Fraternal Order of Police have worked several years to make the memorial a reality.
