A Golden Alert is issued in Pike County for a missing man with Alzheimer's.
Pike County Emergency management officials say 71 year old Paul "Jiggs" Young disappeared Thursday morning from his home in Island Creek.
Family members say he had a doctor's appointment Thursday morning. Young's sister, Joyce Roberts, says he left his home in Island Creek at 9:00 a.m. but never showed up at the doctor's office in Pikeville. He also never came home.
Roberts says another family member saw him driving past the Johns Creek Elementary School on Thursday morning. No one else has seen or heard from him since then.
The family says Young had no reason to be in the Johns Creek area, so they do not know where he was going. They also cannot reach him on the phone.
The family is concerned he has gone a day without his Alzheimer medication. The family wants to find him as soon as possible.
"Real concerned because it don't make much...it don't make much, he's not like that," said Joyce Roberts.
Young was last seen wearing a red checkered flannel shirt, white kinzer hat, and jeans.
He drives a blue Ford Winstar Van with the license plate number 870-LWB.
Anyone who sees him should call state police.
