A work release inmate is on the run.
Police say 31-year old James Adams of Pikeville escaped a short time ago.
He was in a group cutting brush in the Mossy Bottom area.
Police say he was sent to get supplies out of a truck and never returned.
He was in jail on receiving stolen property charges.
Adams is a white man, about six feet tall with brown hair and weighs 195 pounds.
