The man accused of causing a wreck that killed a Pike County Sheriff's Deputy will be headed back to court later this week.
David Wayne Childers is set for a pre-trial conference on Friday August 31st.
He is charged with murder and being a persistent felony offender.
Police say Childers was speeding when he allegedly crossed the centerline and hit James I. Thacker's cruiser head-on earlier this year.
Investigators say they found drug paraphernalia in Childers SUV.
