SOUTH WILLIAMSON, Ky. (WYMT) - A man from West Virginia is missing after his family members say he last spoke to his wife on Saturday night. He was last seen at the Sweet Dreams Suites Hotel in South Williamson.
Family members say 37-year-old Stephen Daniels, from West Virginia, last spoke to his wife, Christina Daniels, Saturday night at 9:30 p.m. Christina Daniels says he was walking next to a river by his hotel to smoke during the call. They say he works in South Williamson for his construction job, and they still live in West Virginia.
"He had been away for a couple weeks and he was usually just missing home," said Daniels.
Family members say Stephen Daniels always calls his wife multiple times a day.
"No matter what he would call. that's all he did was talk to her all the time," said Stephen Daniels' mother-in-law, Janet Ward.
"I talk to him several times a day. Probably over 20 times a day. He calls me at 3:30 every morning because he knows that's what time I get up and get ready for work," said Daniels.
But Christina Daniels says records show her husband's call to her Saturday night was his last. She also says they show he has not withdrawn money since then, either.
"He also went off and left his car and his personal items and he hadn't even showered since he had come in from work. It's just not like him to not contact someone," Daniels said.
Her parents are in Pike County helping search for him, but she says helping them would be too hard.
"He is our everything and I personally just can't go down there because I can't come home without him," said Daniels.
Kentucky State Police declared him missing on Sunday. Stephen Daniels and his wife have three sons.
