State Police say David Childers is responsible for a wreck last week in Pike County that killed Deputy David Thacker.
Police say Childers' SUV crossed the center line of Highway 460 and hit Thacker's cruiser head-on. Police arrested Childers on Friday, the same day Thacker was buried.
Today in court, a judge told Childers he was charged because he was speeding, and had drug paraphernalia in his SUV. We're told toxicology tests on Childers are still pending.
