The longest serving sheriff in Kentucky now has a piece of roadway named after him.
Charles "Fuzzy" Keesee was honored Wednesday during a ceremony at Belfry High School.
The corridor of U.S. 119 in Pike County from the West Virginia state line to the intersection of Kentucky 199 at Huddy is now named in Keesee's honor.
"I cannot say how special it is. This is a dream that I would have never ever thought in my wildest dreams that this day would happen." Sheriff Keesee told Mountain News.
Keesee has been Pike County's sheriff for 39 years and was first elected in January 1962.
