PIKEVILLE, Ky. (WYMT) - Work is well under way on a new athletic complex at one Pike County high school.
School officials say Pike County Central High School was in need of its own baseball field, and they have been working to build a complex that will include new baseball and soccer facilities.
They say it is a nearly one million dollar project that was very needed.
"For the baseball program to progress it was just a barrier for them to get through, having to travel and not basically having a home base to play in, and so now they're going to have that," said Pike County Superintendent Roger Wagner.
The complex is scheduled to be finished before the spring semester.
