PIKEVILLE, Ky. (WYMT)-An effort to equip homes in Pike County with smoke detectors is gaining traction and receiving corporate support.
The Pike County Fire Fighters Association president told the Appalachian News Express nearly all of the 250 smoke detectors donated were distributed to area fire departments.
Plus, he says area businesses are pledging to help get more smoke detectors to help families that need them.
