A Pike County man charged with murder is now claming self defense.
Everett Paul Norman is claiming self-defense under the "Castle Doctrine", which addresses a person's right to defend themselves or their home with deadly force.
He allegedly shot and killed Jesse Church earlier this month on Pond Creek Road in the Draffin community.
Last week, Norman entered a not guilty plea.
