PIKEVILLE, Ky. (WYMT) - Officials in Pike County are warning people of a scam.
They say someone is approaching mostly elderly people and pretending to know them.
Then they tell them their car broke down and they need money for a tow truck or gas.
Officials say it is happening in high traffic areas like around Walmart and Lowe's.
Anyone with information about this should contact police.
