The investigation continues into a crash that killed a Pike County sheriff's deputy.
It happened Monday night around nine o'clock on U.S. 460 near Marrowbone.
Officers tell Mountain News three cars, including the deputy's cruiser, were involved.
Witnesses told us an SUV hit the cruiser.
The coroner says the deputy died on the scene.
Sheriff Charles "Fuzzy" Keesee has not released the name of the officer killed but called him "a good deputy."
Other sheriff deputies came to the scene to mourn the loss and offer support to one another.
Many of the other police and firefighters working the wreck scene knew him.
Sheriff's department employees say their co-worker and friend will be greatly missed.
Police say one person in one of the other vehicles went to Pikeville Medical Center with injuries.
That persons name is also not released.
The road was closed most of the night, but is now back open.
Emergency crews are on the scene of a serious crash in Pike County.
