PIKEVILLE, Ky. (WYMT) - Two officials that have been making their way around the region, ended their tour on Tuesday in Pikeville.
United States Sen. Rand Paul and Kentucky Agriculture Commissioner James Comer were guests at the Southeast Kentucky Chamber of Commerce membership luncheon.
Sen. Paul spoke to local business owners about his proposed tax plan called 'Economic Freedom Zones'.
"I want people of Eastern Kentucky to know that Republicans have a plan for trying to end long term unemployment, to try to alleviate poverty, and really try to transform Eastern Kentucky," explains Paul.
Chamber members say it is encouraging to discuss plans to improve the region with both Paul and Comer.
