After a series of eliminations, twelve talented contestants remain and will now compete on Saturday, June 16 at the Mountain Arts Center, Prestonsburg, KY, for the opportunity to become the next Country Music Highway Star. This nail – biting and action packed event will be the culmination of a very successful inaugural Road to Fame season. Bernard Porter, of PCG Nashville, who is one of the Road to Fame key organizers stated that “this is a very talented group of performers and the eventual winner will represent the area proudly. There are many music executives in Nashville who are very aware of this event and they will be keenly interested to see who will rise to the top. There are no losers in this competition, only an opportunity to continue to work hard, keep improving and to try again next year. We will have programs, seminars and workshops throughout the year that will assist each serious artist in this region who is interested in improving their craft. We also want to develop and foster talents and skills that will provide opportunities within the music industry that are non-performance related.”

Each contestant will perform two songs with the backing of a very talented live regional band. The winner of the competition will receive an artist development agreement with PCG Nashville that is valued at $25,000. In addition to the development agreement, the winner receives a 4-day stay at Tom T. Hall’s ranch, just south of Nashville, to record one or two songs. Mr. Tom T. Hall and his wife, Dixie, are major supporters of young talent and the Road to Fame competition. All twelve competitors will be awarded a Gibson guitar for making it to the Road to Fame finals. The guitars will be presented to each contestant at the Road to Fame Final Competition on June 16th.

Special guest performer at the Road to Fame Finals will be Staci Carriere, a native of Floyd County and currently residing in Nashville. Staci has recently achieved some songwriting success with a National Release of her song, Waiting For Me, which she co-wrote for the Children’s Miracle Hospital Network (CMHN). The CMHN flew all songwriters to Disney World in Orlando last October to perform the song at their National Gala. Staci is on the verge of negotiating a major publishing deal with a Nashville company.
