- Downtown Pikeville turned pink on Saturday, as hundreds took part in the 5K race and other events held to support those impacted by breast cancer. The area became covered in the color from businesses, to people, and even some furry creatures.
- Officials with the Richmond, Virginia based company said Monday night the layoffs occurred at operations at the McCoy Elkhorn complex in Pike and Floyd counties, the Bledsoe complex in Leslie and Harlan counties and the Long Branch Surface mine in London.
- A project three years in the making took a step forward last week as contracts were approved and signed to bring commercial air service to Pike County, but now the Pike County Fiscal Court is questioning some of the decisions made in the contracts.
