POWELL COUNTY, Ky. (WKYT) - A death investigation is underway in Powell County after after a body was found in a small pond.
Emergency crews were called to the pond off of Lofty Heights Road around 1:30 p.m. Wednesday afternoon.
The Powell County coroner says the victim is 64-year-old James William Osborne.
An autopsy will be performed tomorrow to determine the cause of the death, but the coroner says it appears to be an accidental drowning.
The sheriff's office tell us Osborne was staying in a camper near the pond.
The coroner says a neighbor spotted his body after he noticed shoes floating in the water.
The Coroner says it does not appear the body had been in the water more than a day.
