Acres of Land's 3rd Annual 'Stomp on By' Wine Festival to be held Saturday

Acres of Land Winery would like to invite you to participate in its 3rd Annual 'Stomp on By' Wine Festival. The festival will be held on Saturday, August 7, 2010, from 8:00 until 4:00, followed by the "Picnic in The Vineyard" at 5:30 with entertainment by Yogi Brown. We have added a few new activities this year that we are sure you will enjoy. We will start the festival with a 5K run/walk at 8:00 a.m. One half of the registration fees for the 5k run/walk will be donated to the American Cancer Society for Breast Cancer Research. A "Best Dish with Wine" competition will be held from 10:15 a.m. through 12:30 p.m. . Dishes and recipes may be checked in between 9:00 a.m. and 10:00 a.m. Categories are
1) Appetizers, 2) Entrée, 3)Side dishes, 4) Desserts and 5) misc. Prizes will be awarded in each category.

The community building and the surrounding grounds will host KY Proud vendors offering craft and food items, homemade baskets, one of a kind jewelry items, hourly entertainment and much more beginning at 10:00 a.m. We will have wagon rides, winery building tours and concessions available from 10:00 thru 4:00, a grape stomping competition and evening entertainment at our "Picnic in the Vineyard". This is an opportunity to spend a great day with your family!

Our famous Grape Stomping competition will be held again this year between 4:00 and 5:00. There are categories for adults and children. Proceeds from this event are donated to the Kirksville Community Center. Tickets will be available on site or in advance from members of the Kirksville Community Center.

At 5:30 live entertainment provided by Yogi Brown will begin for our evening "Picnic in the Vineyard" featuring: Fried Chicken, Potato Salad, baked beans, corn on the cob, bread and cobblers for dessert, non-alcoholic drinks at a cost of $19.95 per person plus tax. A bar will be set up for wine or beer purchases. The booth space in the Community Building and the outside surrounding area is marked off for 10 x 10 booths. Vendors must provide their own tables (and tents if outside) and may setup beginning at 9:00 a.m. for the day. Electricity is available for a limited number of booths inside the Community Building and we will honor requests for electric as we receive payment on the space. There is an additional $10.00 fee for electrical hookup. Coffee and donuts will be provided during set up for our vendors. If you are interested in participating in our run, cooking contest or being a vendor, please complete one of the attached application forms and fax to 859-328-3226. Payment can be made on Saturday.
