RICHMOND, Ky. (AP) - Eastern Kentucky is looking for redemption
The Colonels suffered their first losing season in more than 30
last years when they slipped to 5-6.
Despite the difficulties, the Colonels managed to finish in a
tie for second in the Ohio Valley Conference and are a pick to once
again compete for the title in a league they've dominated for
The Colonels will be stacked with experience. The roster
features 30 upperclassmen, though the key to the will be sophomore
quarterback T.J. Pryor. Pryor accounted for nearly 2,500 yards of
total offense while being named the OVC Freshman of the Year.
Coach Dean Hood said the conference race is wide open, but knows
his team is a threat to win it all.
EKU opens the season at Missouri State on Sept. 2.
