In the last few months Richmond Police have made two arrests in a robbery case that took place in mid-May.
"The JaRu's New Fashion was robbed. Three males came inside. They used some type of a long gun. There were two employees inside and they were assaulted and robbed at that point," says Major Bob Mott.
Police say one employee was struck with an assault rifle. Police say the other employee had a taser or stun gun type of device used on him.
Two of the suspects ran off. Another left in a dark colored Pontiac Aztek.
Shortly after the robbery, police arrested 35-year-old Tanu Kenya dyer. Police say he was the driver of the car. Now a second person has been arrested. 30-year-old Brandon Thomas, who an employee tells NewsFirst had shopped in the store before, was arrested for this crime.
"He was arrested in Lexington and brought back to Richmond," says Major Bob Mott.
Police say he was also involved in a home invasion that took place in the morning hours of July 22nd on Lassiter Drive. In that incident, the homeowner was also struck with what was believed to be a firearm.
In the meantime, police continue to investigate the robbery and assault that took place at JaRu's New Fashions.
Police are still trying to determine who the third person involved in the robbery was. If you have any information, give them a call.
As for Brandon Thomas, the man police just arrested for the crime, he is behind bars at the Madison County Detention Center. He's charged with robbery and second degree assault.
