Richmond police are searching for the man who stole several thousand dollars from Family Dollar. They say he knew his way around this store all too well and have the video to prove it.
Last Thursday around three in the morning police say a man walked into the front door of this Family Dollar. As you can see in the video he went directly to the cash register, opened it up looking for money and then crept over to their safe, being careful not to show his face to the surveillance cameras. It only took him 15 minutes to get away with several thousand dollars.
"He obviously knew his way around the store, knew how to get in and was familiar with the safe and register at the store also. He appeared to know to keep his head down in certain spots to avoid the cameras in the store," says Major Bob Mott with Richmond Police.
Police believe this man locked the doors as he left.
