Several central Kentucky business owners are assessing damage Monday after a fire ripped through a strip mall.
The fire broke out early Monday morning, and damaged a row of businesses on Pauline Drive in Berea. That's not far from Interstate 75.
"When units arrived, they found fire vented through the back window of the structure," Chief Roy Curtis of the Berea Fire Department said.
Firefighters say an accounting office had heavy damage, while five other businesses had some smoke and heat damage.
The owner of the accounting office says he's made plans to move his business elsewhere for the time being.
"At this moment, we're making arrangements at a nearby building to take over and start new operations tomorrow," the owner, Sammy Lee, said.
Investigators from the state fire marshal's office are expected to arrive on the scene Monday to try to determine the cause of the fire.
However, firefighters say the fire does not look suspicious.
It took firefighters about half an hour to put out the flames. No one was hurt.
