Madison County Schools were among the many districts that kept students home Wednesday.
Snow covered roads throughout the county, creating some difficult driving conditions.
By noon, many roads in Richmond had improved.
Road crews in Madison County spent the morning trying to make roads as safe as possible for drivers.
Students at Eastern Kentucky University's main campus in Richmond were on a two-hour delay Wednesday.
However, by pushing classes back two hours, many students told us it put them out in the snow when it was coming down the hardest.
"We're really annoyed with all the delays because it messes up work and school," EKU student Allison Bourland said. "It's really obnoxious. It would have been easier just to get up and go to class in my opinion."
Many other students said the same thing. One student even said she's beginning to know her two-hour snow delay schedule better than her regular class schedule.
Madison County dispatchers tell us emergency crews worked 30 accidents this morning.
