A man is dead after his Jeep slammed into a semi. It happened just after noon Wednesday on Kentucky 627 in Madison County. That's north of Richmond, near I-75.
Officials tell 27 NEWSFIRST the man lost control while trying to make a turn, and ended up in the path of a semi. The impact of the crash caused the Jeep to flip several times, killing the driver.
The driver of the semi was taken to the hospital with non-life threatening injuries.
Kentucky 627 was closed for a few hours while crews worked to clean up a fuel spill, resulting from the crash.
At this point, police do not think the weather played a role in this crash, but their investigation continues.
Investigators have not yet released the name of the victim.
