Man burned in fire identified; charges filed in case

We now know the name of a man badly burned in a fire.

Members of the Richmond Fire Department found the man Monday night, as they were battling a fire in a field at the corner of the Eastern Bypass and Big Hill Avenue.

Richmond Police have identified that man as 35-year-old Danny Richardson.

Police say Richardson was taken to UK Hospital with severe burns to the lower part of his body. As of Wednesday afternoon, he was listed in serious condition.

Investigators think Richardson, and two others in the field, were homeless and staying in the shed when the fire started.

Police say the two other men, 45-year-old David A. Johnson and 40-year-old Roy D. Johnson, were charged with criminal trespassing and taken into custody.

The fire destroyed the shed.
