Investigators have now tied a serial bank robber, already in custody, to a bank robbery in Richmond earlier this year.

Richmond Police say last week, they received information from the FBI that 49-year-old Michael Joseph Forsythe had been linked to the robbery of the U.S. Bank on East Main Street on August 16.

In that robbery, the suspect pulled out a gun and demanded money.

Forsythe was arrested after police say he robbed a bank in Holly Hill, Florida on September 17.

Along with the robberies in Richmond and Florida, police say Forsythe has also been tied to bank robberies in North Carolina, West Virginia, and Georgia.

Police say Forsythe will be prosecuted in federal court in Florida for all the bank robberies.
