We're learning more about the man now charged in a double shooting.
Police say 27-year-old Matthew Denholm shot two men in Berea Monday morning, killing one of them.
He was later arrested at a busy Louisville intersection. According to police reports obtained by 27 NEWSFIRST Tuesday, investigators say Denholm admitted to murder moments after being arrested.
In a Jefferson County courtroom Tuesday morning, Denholm pleaded not guilty to fleeing and evading, wanton endangerment, and tampering with physical evidence charges.
Police say on Monday, Denholm went to an apartment on Chestnut Street in Berea and shot the two men who lived there.
Investigators say 25-year-old Zachary Flower was killed, and another man, who friends identify as Kevin Price, was taken to UK Hospital with a gunshot wound to his abdomen.
Police say the three men had been involved in an argument late Sunday night. They say Denholm then showed up at the victims' apartment early Monday morning with a gun.
Police say right after the shooting, Denholm left with his brother, Ryan Denholm, and a friend, Sherry Bratten, both of whom were with Matthew Denholm when he was arrested in Jefferson County.
Police reports say Denholm then admitted to murder, told police he wanted them to shoot him, and even told them where to find the murder weapon.
Also in Louisville Tuesday, Ryan Denholm and Sherry Bratten were arraigned on hindering prosecution charges and tampering with physical evidence. Both pleaded not guilty.
Police reports claim Ryan Denholm and Sherry Bratten were both aware of the shootings, and took some sort of role in them.
We're told by those who knew Matthew Denholm that he was going through a divorce with a wife who claimed he was abusive.
