The owners of a Richmond fruit market are cleaning up some damage after a fire broke out Monday afternoon.
Firefighters were called to Kelly's Fruit Market, off the Eastern Bypass, around 1 p.m.
The owners say the fire started in a stove in the rear kitchen of the building. They say they tried to put out the fire themselves at first, but the smoke was too thick.
Firefighters say they were able to contain the fire to the kitchen.
The fruit market has some smoke and water damage, but the owners say it's nothing major.
We're told no one was injured in the fire.
The owners of the fruit market say the business will be closed for the rest of the day, but they hope to reopen tomorrow.
