Some students at Eastern Kentucky University have uncovered the remains of a village estimated to be around 700 years old.
During the last four years, students taking an archaeology course have been digging beneath a ridge on the Blue Grass Army Depot in Madison County.
The site has now been documented as a village with a plaza in the middle, a low burial mound and several homes.
The remains will be the subject of a lecture at EKU in April.
