Richmond family donated more than they wanted to Goodwill

On June 8, a Richmond family accidentally donated their daughter's Vera Bradley and Guess purses, diamond earrings and personal identification to the Richmond Goodwill. The items were worth more than 1200 dollars. And when they went to retrieve them, they were gone.

"It's not that unusual, but it is kinda unusual that they took this much stuff and we got it on video," says Major Bob Mott with the Richmond Police Department.

Major Mott says a man and woman stole those valuables around 11:30 last Tuesday night.

"We've got a white female and a white male and they appear to be driving possibly a Honda Accord late 90s model and they've obviously got a young child," says Mott.

We spoke with the Goodwill Vice President. She tells us if you're going to donate after business hours, make sure those items can fit in the donation box.

If you know anything about this crime or the suspects involved, call Richmond police.
