The American Diabetes Association (ADA) in partnership with our 2013 Presenting Sponsor, UK HealthCare, Barnstable Brown Kentucky Diabetes & Obesity Center, is proud to present the American Diabetes Association’s World Tour for a Cure. The event will take place on Friday, November 1 beginning at 7pm at the RJ Corman Airplane Hangar in Nicholasville, Kentucky. The evening will include the world’s finest international cuisine, complimentary cocktails, amazing live performances and an auction featuring hundreds of items.
This year’s World Tour for a Cure is a signature fundraising event and helps support the American Diabetes Association’s mission – to prevent and cure diabetes and to improve the lives of all those affected by diabetes. This year’s event will be held during American Diabetes Month as we draw awareness to a disease that affects close to 500,000 Kentuckians with more adults and children being diagnosed every day.
“Whether it’s a family member, friend or co-worker… chances are, you know someone facing the difficult challenges diabetes brings each day.” says World Tour for a Cure Chair, Mrs. Ann H.M. Thomas. She adds, “With so many Kentuckians affected by this disease, we’re asking the community to come together for one night with one common goal… to raise awareness and money to fund research, education and advocacy efforts as we work to find a cure and end diabetes.”
