Dozens rally for rights for same-sex couple

They rallied for rights, all to support a same-sex couple kicked out of a park. Dozens of people crowded around Richmond's City Hall, hoping their shouts would lead to some change.

"It's good for everybody to know what's going on, and for all of our supporters to come out," explained Cheri Chenault.

More than 70 people in Richmond were fighting for fairness, and against what happened to same-sex couple Cheri Chenault and her partner Destiny Keith. Chenault and Keith were asked to leave the privately funded side of E.C. Million Park earlier this month while taking maternity photos. Supporters of the Fairness law say if it were in place in the city, this never would have happened.

"Equal fairness is not given to everybody and so we really have to have an ordinance that says that," said fairness law supporter Marianne McAdam.
