RICHMOND, Ky. (AP) - With eight games on the road to start the
season, Eastern Kentucky coach Jeff Neubauer knows the month of
November could define his team's season.
The Colonels opened Monday with a 76-66 loss at Mississippi
State and won't play at home until a Dec. 3 contest against
Brescia. Another trying SEC road trip comes Dec. 20 at Arkansas.
Joshua Jones, a 6-foot-3 guard and four-year starter, is the top
returning scorer at 10.7 points a game. He was eighth in the OVC
with 1.7 3-pointers made per game last season.
The Colonels have led the conference in three-point field goals
the past three seasons and Neubauer expects to rely on outside
shooting again this year.
EKU was picked seventh in the OVC preseason poll after finishing
15-16 last season.
