Family members say 19-year-old Misty Riddell and their daughter, 18-year-old Brooke Feltner, were the best of friends. However, that was several years ago and they say a lot has changed, adding that a man came between them.
"It's just a lot of drama, unfortunately, between (them and) a boy," said Lisa Feltner, "it escalated on and a lot of anger between the two (girls) over him."
Sunday night the Feltner family says the feud reached a level they never expected. Richmond Police say Riddell pepper sprayed Feltner and then stabbed her several times, causing life threatening injuries.
"My daughter could have died. This was premeditated," claimed Feltner. "We never really thought it would come to this. We didn't think it'd get this far."
"Misty had come to our house and was looking for Brooke, and stated that she was going to go over there and kill her. I called and warned her, but unfortunately, Brooke didn't take heed to my warning," recalled Jamie Isaacs, Brooke's Step-Mother. "I'm scared for her and I'm upset that it resulted in this."
After being stabbed several times to her body and once to her left leg, Feltner was rushed here to UK Hospital where her family says they came dangerously close to losing the teen.
"I'm very grateful that my daughter's alive," started Calvin Feltner, "her life could've ended real quick, last night, over something that's really not worth it."
"Oh my God, it's the worst feeling," Lisa Feltner said thinking her daughter was going to die last night.
Feltner is being kept in the ICU at UK Hospital and is reported to be in fair condition, but her family can't believe how quickly their daughter went from fighting with another girl, to fighting for her life.
Police say Riddell was treated at Pattie A. Clay for minor injuries before being taken to jail. She faces a charge of Attempted Murder and was given a million dollar bond.
