MADISON, Ky. (WKYT) - We spoke to one of the farm managers here on Cold Spring Run Farm in Madison County.
He says he didn't know anything was wrong until he heard the fire truck sirens.
And that was around six this morning.
By that time, the barn was engulfed in flames, all that was inside was lost.
The farm manager says along with some valuable show horse gear, they lost a 35-year old pony that he had pulled in for the night to keep it warm.
Considering the loss of the horse, the equipment, and the barn itself, the manager says they are very lucky the fire didn't spread to the much larger barn behind it.
He also says these yearlings are normally in the barn overnight, but thankfully not last night.
The manager says there is electricity running to the barn, and it does appear that the fire started somewhere toward the rear of the barn.
Right now, those close to the owner say don't suspect foul play.
They will be looking over some security video though, to see exactly when and where this fire started.
