RICHMOND, Ky. (WKYT) - The roads are clear and most of the water is gone Saturday night, but neighbors say earlier heavy rains turned one Richmond street into a disaster.
Saturday's rainfall caused some creeks to spill out of their banks, and spill into nearby yards, roads and fields near Valley Street.
WKYT also received reports that the heavy rains also washed out Water Street.
Ricky Centers has lived on Valley Street for the past decade, and over time, he's learned that whenever heavy rains hit flooding follows.
Centers says, "Water was everywhere. It was coming off the ditch off the road. All the water comes off all these other places, but it doesn't have a place to go so it comes down through here and wipes it out."
Folks who live on this road say there's not too much they can do about the flooding, except cross their fingers and hope that this summer ends on a dry note.
